Adventure Dog Journal #1 || November 16, 2020

We finally launched our online store. New smaller coffee bags are available. And some odds and ends about our favorite topics: coffee and dogs.

We're Live!

Adventure Dog Coffee home page

After what seems like the longest summer ever (we just turned off our air conditioning about 10 days ago), we have finally hit fall weather in Las Vegas...

And launched our online store.

Yay for us!

Thank you to everyone who supported us throughout this process and those who are among our first-ever customers.

You're not only helping our little family biz take wings...

But more important, helping the fantastic folks at the Rescue 22 Foundation do the work of angels.

If you ordered coffee last week, your coffee was roasted Friday morning. Just like grandpa after Thanksgiving dinner, our beans need to degas for several hours. I'll write more about this another day but just know we need to let the beans air out once they come out of the roaster and before they get vacuum-sealed in the bag.

And, if you're reading this email and sipping a cup of your soon-to-be-ex-favorite coffee, your coffee is getting boxed up today and will be shipped out tomorrow.

We're testing a new fulfillment system between me in Las Vegas and our roaster in Austin. Hopefully, you'll receive a confirmation email and tracking number once your order is boxed up.

If you ordered a piece of our super shweet logoed gear, you should have received a separate confirmation and tracking email. If you didn't, let me know.

Hopefully, everything works, and you'll get your coffee & gear in a few days.

If not, please bear with us as we get the wrinkles ironed out.

More Coffee! Kinda.

Adventure Dog Coffee Co. Variety Packs

We had hoped to have 4-oz bags available by the time we launched, but the USPS and the elections said otherwise.

But they're finally here: Adventure Dog Coffee Co. Variety Packs

I had a lot of questions about which of our coffees to try. While I did my best to match our flavor profiles with how you described your taste buds, getting our Sampler may be the way to go.

Depending on how you make your coffee, you'll get about 8-10 cups out of each 4-oz bag.

The 4-ouncers are a great way to get a feel of the flavor profiles before committing to a full 12-oz bag.

Unlike our 12-oz bags, we’re not able to grind these for you. The quantities are just too small. But, if we end up selling enough of these, we’ll see what we can do.

And...hint hint...they make great stocking stuffers.

Coffee & Canines

  • How to Brew the (Nearly) Perfect Pot of Coffee - I wrote this to help save America from shitty coffee. Especially at the workplace. You French Press and pour over cool kids should have your coffee-making dialed in. The coffee-by-the-pot crowd seems to need the most help. Take a look if you feel you need some help brewing your coffee. You're welcome.

  • Why John will never be elected president - If I were put in any kind of public office, I would totally abuse my power and do the same thing as the president of Turkmenistan. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow (say that three times fast) is a total dog nut. Did he focus on lowering taxes, cleaning up regulations, strengthening his country's economy? Nope. His top priority was to have a 19-foot-tall dog sculpture built to honor his favorite breed, the Alabai ("Wolf Crusher") or Central Asian Shepherd. Every dog has its day, right?

  • Favorite Outdoor Spots for Fido? - Please do me a favor tag us on Instagram (@adventuredog.coffee) with your favorite hiking trail or place to camp with your dogs. Time to help people get outside and make more memories with their dogs.

That's all I got for this Sunday. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

John

P.S. I have a very, very big announcement to make next Sunday. Keep your eyes on your inbox and a fresh cup of our coffee on standby.
